The April 2, 2012 Tai Chi Chuan class is a 37 posture Wu style taught in a mirror image instruction. The form is very easy to learn in this manner. The class is a beginning class so postures are taught step by step. The form will be corrected so the student receives the full benefit of Tai Chi Chuan. The Microcosmic Orbit breathing pattern will be taught along with a few Qigong postures for instant relaxation. Qigong exercises are standing postures that create energy in the body. Tai Chi Chuan is meditation in movement that disperses that created energy.

The class will be held at the Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Street, Grand Blanc. The class will be held outdoors, weather permitting, on a stone patio large enough to accommodate the fifteen people in the class. The patio overlooks a beautiful wood-lot that is part of the Grand Blanc Commons Park. A very beautiful and natural setting full of wildlife. If the weather is not nice enough to be outdoors then the recreation room of the church will be used for class. This room is glass on two sides and looks out over a view that will relax and calm.

Tai Chi Chuan is a centuries-old Chinese exercise of peace and harmony. The slow flowing movement of Tai Chi Chuan will relax and calm the tense body and mind and at the same time it will create flexibility, stamina, coordination, balance and grace. Tai Chi Chuan has been proven medically by many countries to reduce High Blood Pressure, sugar levels and cholesterol. It massages the internal organs and creates better hand-eye coordination and lung capacity. It is a safe and fun exercise for anyone but is designed for adults.

Classes are limited to fifteen people so everyone receives the attention necessary to understand the fundamentals of Tai Chi Chuan.

The class will be taught by Dawn Fleetwood. Dawn has been teaching classes in Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong in the Michigan area for over thirty years. Dawn received her training from a master student of the C.C. Chen School of New York City along with studying with some of America's and China's top instructors. Dawn is also a practitioner of Asian Medicine with a office located on Hill Road in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
